Newly appointed West Brom manager Alan Pardew wants to meet and talk with Jonny Evans right away as he wants to be assured that the player will not move to Manchester City or Arsenal.
The former Manchester United defender was linked with a move to Premier League giants City and Arsenal during the end of the summer window but the deal did not go to fruition.
Evans remained at West Brom but it looks like Manchester City and Arsenal are not yet done with the player since they want to continue their pursuit in January.
Pardew wants to avoid more offers for the 29-year-old as he is keen on talking with the player.
“I think the assurance I need is probably from Jonny more than anybody and I haven’t met him yet,” he said.
“I’m looking forward to seeing him. I think he’s a fabulous player and very important for the club so I will have a good old discussion with him.”
