Alexandre Lacazette who is now at Arsenal from Lyon could have been at Paris Saint-Germain but the 26-year-old wanted to test his abilities in the Premier League.
Lacazette revealed that he had talks with PSG before moving to Arsenal and could have stayed in his homeland with PSG if he just agreed with them.
“We talked to PSG but I knew it was not where I wanted to go. In France, I would only play for Lyon,” Lacazette said.
“PSG could have helped me progress because of the big players they have but I wanted to play in another league.”
Lacazette is Arsenal’s most expensive signing with £52.7 million in July.
The striker has also made four goals in his seven appearances with the Premier League.
Although Arsenal had a difficult start this season. However, the team have now progressed and are the fifth in the Premier League, six points behind Manchester City.
“I believe in the title, whether in the Premier League or in the Europa League,” Lacazette added.
“We have a big group, everyone gets along, it’s not always the best that wins.”
