Ozil, who joined the Gunners in 2013 will be free to speak to foreign clubs from January.
Inter president Erick Thohir confirmed that they are looking for the 28-year-old midfielder.
“He [Ozil] is definitely one of those players we are looking at but the last January signings of [Lukas] Podolski and [Xherdan] Shaqiri proves winter signings can fail to live up to expectations.”
Ozil who joined the Gunners from Real Madrid had left some fans a bit disappointed with his performance as he has not been the success they think he would.
The playmaker has mostly been criticised because of his poor work-rate in big games and many fans have been left frustrated.
Arsenal spent £42.5 million on Ozil and Arsene Wenger expects to get back some money from him once the January transfer window opens.
