Olivier Giroud revealed how he was supposed to join Everton but admitted that he made the right decision of not transferring.
The 31-year-old has already scored 100 goals across all competitions for the Gunners and is still viewed as a valuable player by fans even though he has a primary role with France.
The French international explained that he had almost moved to Goodison this summer just like Wayne Rooney but opted not to.
“I had the opportunity to leave. I was very close to another English club — Everton — but I think I made the best choice.”
“I have a lot of respect for Marseille, I was a fan for years.
“I also have a lot of respect for Lyon, who were also interested at one time. I didn’t want to return to France. I’m happy in England, it’s nothing against those clubs. But a return to France is possible one day.”
