While Alexis Sanchez is preparing for a possible transfer to Manchester City or even Manchester United, the Arsenal star may be ready to be in the starting line-up against West Brom.
Sanchez did not play during their game against Chelsea on Sunday where they had a draw 0-0. But he did play the full 90 minutes in Wednesday’s 1-0 EFL Cup third round win over League One side Doncaster Rovers.
The 28-year-old had a crazy summer as he wanted to leave Arsenal but was not able to do so as his club could not find a replacement at the last minute. He also had an abdominal injury but he made an impressive form at the Emirates.
While the Chile forward is glad to get a starting spot on Monday, he is not sure though if he really did enough to earn his spot.
“For me he needs competition, that’s why I left him on the pitch,” Wenger said.
“He should be ready [for West Brom].”
Danny Welbeck will not be able to play after a groin injury which will leave Sanchez on the left flank.
