Wenger hit out at Michael Oliver and his linesmen for their display, then hit out on officials as they are constantly getting worse.
“The referees don’t work enough,” Wenger said.
“The level drops every season. The decisions are just wrong.
“I believe it was no penalty. We know that Sterling dives well he does that very well. And the third was offside.”
“You have seen what I’ve seen.
“The fact that you tell me it’s an offside goal shows enough. I don’t want to take anything away from their quality but it happened at a moment when we were in the game.”
Petr Cech also said that the decision made a big difference to the result of the game.
“At 2-1 we got back into the game and we were in it, we had time to search for the equaliser but the third goal makes a huge difference.
“I can’t comment on the penalty because of my angle, but the third goal, I was surprised. David Silva looked far behind everybody but the referee has a better view than me.
“Referees have a difficult job to do. I don’t know if he got it right or wrong but that goal made the difference.”
