Philippe Coutinho has rejected Liverpool’s last attempts to keep him at Anfield with his representatives are now in contact with Barcelona.
The two clubs are now under negotiations over what would be the third-biggest transfer in history. The club have increased their offer to £142 million where they will pay £106 million up front and the rest based on appearances and trophy-related bonuses.
Coutinho was offered a pay raise to stay at Liverpool but was not interested and is more desperate to depart for the Nou Camp.
When asked Jurgen Klopp about Coutinho’s refusal to stay longer at Anfield, the Liverpool boss told a news conference that he has “nothing to say” about the matter as his side prepares for the FA Cup Merseyside derby against Everton on Friday.
