Jack Butland not moving to Liverpool FC despite claims he is leaving Stoke City

Jack Butland

Stoke City’s Jack Butland has been rumoured to a transfer to Liverpool FC but this was later denied by the goalkeeper and said that he is putting his focus on the club.

Liverpool boss Jurgen Klopp also admitted that he was having a hard time deciding between Loris Karius and Simon Mignolet as his first choice.

But Butland denied the claims that he wants to move to Liverpool and that he did not ask his club if he could leave them so that he can transfer to Liverpool.

“Before this spread any further, I haven’t told the club I want to leave, I’m focused on doing everything I can to keep the club in this division,” Butland wrote on his Twitter account.

Liverpool are bound to be linked with numerous players as clubs prepare for the summer transfer window.

Jurgen Klopp says Roberto Firmino is being appreciated more after Philippe Coutinho left

Roberto Firmino

Liverpool manager Jurgen Klopp believes forward Roberto Firmino will be appreciated more since the departure of Philippe Coutinho.

Klopp feels that since Coutinho’s move to Barcelona in January, Firmino, who has netted seven times in eight Champions League games, will be able to take more of the limelight.

“When I came in I said immediately that I was happy Roberto was here,” the German said ahead of his side’s last-16 tie against Porto.

“I don’t think he has stepped up recently but maybe it is more obvious because his situations are not overshadowed by Phil Coutinho’s situations. That’s how it is.

“He’s a very important player and he doesn’t always have to be the standout player. As often as he can be, that’s good.

“Is he underrated? I don’t think so, not anymore. I don’t know what other people think about Roberto Firmino. But people with a football brain judge him right.”

Leicester City have fined Riyad Mahrez for his two-week absence after his club failed to move him to Manchester City.

Mahrez will get a fine of £240,000 which is worth two weeks of wages as he was also absent for two weeks from the club.

Mahrez has been extending his strike and has been reported to be spending time with family and close friends in Algeria.

Because of the situation, the big bosses of the club has decided to hit the pocket of the 26-year-old with two weeks of wages.

Claude Puel press conference

In a press conference with Claude Puel yesterday, he was unable to confirm or deny whether he has already spoken with Mahrez and if he knew where he was.

The Frenchman also did not get a date on when the player would return but said that he will not be involved in tomorrow’s night game against Manchester City where he failed to sign on deadline day.

“I hope Riyad can get his head right and come back with us, to hard work,” said Puel.

“Riyad is a magnificent player, he loves football, he loves his relationship with his friends, his team-mates. He enjoys his football.

Riyad Mahrez

“I think he needs to come back to play, to touch the ball. It’s important.

“I hope he can come back and work hard with the team sooner rather than later.

“We will see. I don’t want to give details about our relationship. It is important that remains inside the club.”

Mahrez also submitted a written transfer request on Tuesday to force Leicester to move him to Man City.

The club demanded £80 million for Mahrez which Man City denied paying. Talks between Mahrez’s representatives and Leicester are still ongoing and the club are hopeful that he will return soon.

Aubameyang and Mkhitaryan

New Arsenal signings Pierre-Emerick Aubameyang and Henrikh Mkhitaryan will play against Tottenham Hotspur at Wembley on Saturday and taste the north London derby atmosphere.

Aubameyang and Mkhitaryan enjoyed a comfortable home debuts in their game against Everton where they won 5-1.

Spurs are fifth in the table and four points ahead of Arsenal who seats in sixth place, one behind fourth- placed Chelsea and two against third-placed Liverpool.

Arsenal won over Tottenham during their game against November but Spurs have the advantage at this time as they were able to beat Manchester United and drawn 2-2 at Liverpool.

Premier League club fight to sign Lazio defender Stefan de Vrij

Stefan de Vrij

Lazio defender Stefan de Vrij has been linked with a move away from Italy for over a year now as his contract is set to expire on June.

Chelsea, Liverpool and Manchester United are in for another race to sign the 26-year-old.

Lazio, however, are confident that they will be able to give a new contract to De Vrij which will also contain a release clause of around £20 million.

In the current market, the fee is a good bargain and the top Premier League clubs are all to chase the striker.

There is news though that the Premier League trio are also aware that De Vrij is likely to agree to the new contract Lazio will give him in the coming weeks.

Stefan de Vrij is also attracting Juventus but prefers a move to England instead.

David De Gea set to demand pay increase after Alexis Sanchez

David De Gea

It seems that the huge pay increase that was given to Alexis Sanchez affected some great players and that is the same with David De Gea whose situation at Old Trafford could make him ask for more.

De Gea, has been heavily linked with Real Madrid and may be ready to demand at least £375,000 a week to sign a new deal.

The Spain international knows about Sanchez’ terms and since his contract will be ending next season, he knows how to also increase his worth.

Jose Mourinho also announced last month that they are willing to offer De Gea a new contract that will secure him at the club for his entire career.

Since Sanchez demanded a very hefty price for his worth, this has also completely altered De Gea and his people to view his next deal and how much he is really worth since Madrid is still interested.

Pierre-Emerick Aubameyang is not another Alexis

Pierre-Emerick Aubameyang

Pierre-Emerick Aubameyang is not an Alexis Sanchez clone and should be left to do what he does best, according to Ian Wright.

The Gunners saw their 2016-17 top goal scorer left them for Manchester United and landed Henrikh Mkhitaryan as an exchange during the January transfer window.

Arsene Wenger, however, took Aubameyang for £55 million to replace Sanchez.

Wright says that the 28-year-old should use his predatory instincts instead of replicating the work rate of Sanchez.

Ian Wright

“It’s been mentioned about Aubameyang not having enough touches in matches,” Wright said.

“He can get away with that.

“If he stays right at the top there and let him get on with it, then why do you want touches when you’ve got [Mesut] Ozil, Mkhitaryan and all those players?

“You can stay on the edge and not touch it.

“If Arsenal can play to his strengths, he’s that kind of player who could have four touches and score four goals.”

Wenger will be hoping that his predictions are right. Aubameyang’s classy finish on his debut against Everton proves that he will bring more in the future games with the club.

Arsenal may be forced to sell Aaron Ramsey and Danny Welbeck

Arsenal may be forced to sell Aaron Ramsey and Danny Welbeck less than 18 months before their contract ends.

Aaron Ramsey and Danny Welbeck transfer

The club may sell the duo as they may also take excessive demands in their salary following Mesut Ozil’s new £350,000 per-week-deal.

The German signed a new contract at Arsenal last week and became the highest paid player in the club’s history.

Pierre-Emerick Aubameyang, who is a new signee for the club becomes the second with £180,000-a-week.

Aaron Ramsey and Danny Welbeck

Those deals have also ruined the wage structure at Arsenal as there are fears in management that the players whose contracts are up for renewal may make unreasonable wage demands.

Ramsey is Arsenal’s top scorer and has greatly impressed this season. Welbeck, on the other hand, has been struggling this season due to a number of injuries.

Arsenal may opt to sell the pair to avoid having the same situation they had with Sanchez and Ozil.

Sanchez perfect for Manchester United according to former captain Rooney

Alexis Sanchez Manchester United

Former Manchester United captain Wayne Rooney believes that Alexis Sanchez is perfect for the club and may help in lifting Romelu Lukaku.

Sanchez swapped Arsenal for United rivals during the January transfer window and was able to score in his debut in Saturday’s win 2-0 against Huddersfield Town.

Alexis Sanchez

Wayne Rooney is United’s all-time leading goalscorer but is now playing for his boyhood club Everton believes that Sanchez can inspire the Red Devils as they have not wanted the title since Alex Ferguson’s final season in 2012-13.

“For me he’s the perfect player for Manchester United. He’s got aggression, he’s got passion, desire and you can see he’s a winner,

“Them players lift the other players and get an extra 10 per cent of the players around him. I think Alexis Sanchez will do that.”

Lukaku also scored against Huddersfield and has been criticised for his performances. Rooney believes that the presence of Sanchez could ease the burden on the Belgium international.

“I think that’s what Manchester United have lacked, players around Lukaku who are going to push Lukaku on as well and try help him get a bit more freedom and score more goals,” Rooney added.
