Crystal Palace got defeated yet again and this time by Southampton on Saturday which now places the club as the first team in Premier League club history without a win and without a goal.
The Eagles will also have three more difficult matches to come which they may they may unlikely to win.
While there are no easy games in the Premier League, Crystal Palace may have some chances over the first five weeks of the season.
An opener against Swansea, Burnley and their opener against Huddersfield Town could have given them opportunities to score since the three teams are much lower than them.
But as what was seen, the players struggled to their manager’s new system as they gave their opponents the chance to score.
Frank de Boer got sacked after 77 days of being in charge and with just four matches. He was replaced by Roy Hodgson but it also looks that the size of the task facing the new manager is large.
Palace face games against Manchester City, Manchester United and Chelsea with a very low possibility of getting a win and probably even getting a goal.
We will still find out if Hodgson’s task at Palace of tightening their defence can get them goals in the long run.
