Jurgen Klopp may have cost Liverpool their win after losing to Leicester 2-0 as the manager only allowed Philippe Coutinho 45 minutes of game time.
The defence was mostly to blame and the team was mostly lost without Coutinho.
The Brazilian showed he is able to do well during the first half of the game but he is still working his way to full fitness which made Klopp decide to only give Coutinho 45 minutes of the actual game.
Klopp also admits that his side’s defence were at fault and his team stopped playing free-flowing football.
I know football long enough, and if you don’t defend these two situations well enough you give the opponent a chance to score – and that was obviously the case,” Klopp told talkSPORT.
“The first half was brilliant without scoring – unlucky in one or two moments I would say – but that’s how it is in football.
“If you don’t score you have to carry on and you will score in one moment.
“The second half it was clear we were not that fluent because we took Phil off – as was the plan from before the game.”
The Reds are still in need of three points after losing against Burnley at Anfield.
