Manchester City striker Sergio Aguero has been reported to be involved in a car crash in Amsterdam and has suffered a fractured rib as a result.
The 29-year-old striker was travelling via a taxi when the driver hit a lamp post.
Both the driver and Aguero were injured and taken to a hospital with the Dutch police not giving the names of the two people inside the vehicle at first.
Aguero attended a concert on Thursday night by Maluma, a Columbian singer and was headed back to the airport when the driver lost control of the vehicle and hit a column on the side of the road.
While Manchester City have not said any information regarding Aguero’s situation, the striker’s former club, Independiente tweeted a photo of the player with the caption: “Strength and prompt. Everyone @Independiente is with you in this difficult moment.”

The news came in bad timing as City are set to face Chelsea at Stamford Bridge on Saturday.
Since moving to the Etihad Stadium six years ago, Aguero has been part of two Premier League winnings.
