Manchester City are eyeing Ryan Bertrand for £30 million on January as Pep Guardiola is a keen admirer of the England international.
Guardiola is reported to be sending scouts to check Bertrand’s performances on several occasions as the club are reportedly in need to strengthen their left-back department in January since Benjamin Mendy will be ruled out for the season because of a knee injury.
Napoli’s Faouzi Ghoulam was another target for City, but he may not be able to move as he suffered a ligament tear this week when they played against City in the Champions League.
He could still move to the Etihad Stadium in the summer when his contract expires. But it is still likely that Guardiola will choose Bertrand as there is a need for him in January.
