Manchester City who just had a tough win at Huddersfield on Sunday are still preparing for reinforcements when January comes.
City scouts are now watching on Real Sociedad defender Inigo Martinez as Pep Guardiola weighs in his plans for the upcoming transfer window.
The Spanish international was linked with a move to City during the summer but the move did not materialise. But City scouts are still continuing to monitor his performances for Sociedad during the first few months of the season.
The 26-year-old works as a central defender who can also work at left-back. He remains of interest to the leaders since John Stones and Benjamin Mendy are still hit by injuries.
City’s pursued over Martinez will also be determined if Vincent Kompany can still come back from his injury.
But it is still likely that City will be interested in Martinez because of his ability to play left-back, with Mendy “likely to miss much of the rest of the season.”
