Jonny Evans has been a sought-after player during the summer with Manchester City, Arsenal and Leicester all wanting to sign but failed.
But it looks like City are not yet done with Evans and are still interested in signing him when the New Year comes.
West Brom, on the other hand, are not planning to give their captain away just like how they deter offers during the summer window. New Baggies boss Alan Pardew is determined to offer Evans a new contract and will be sitting down with the star player to discuss his terms.
“I think the assurance I need is probably from Jonny more than anybody and I haven’t met him yet,” he said. “I’m looking forward to seeing him. I think he’s a fabulous player and very important for the club so I will have a good old discussion with him.”
Evans contract with Albion will expire on 2019 after joining from Manchester United for £6million rising to £8million in 2015. His value now is at over £30 million.
Evans may also be keen to return to Manchester if City pursue their bid since John Stones and Vincent Kompany are injured and Pep Guardiola will need a central defender with a high calibre just like Jonny Evans.
