Newcastle United midfielder Mohamed Diame is interested in going back to Steve Bruce of Aston Villa in January.
Since Diame has not been a regular and has just been seen from the bench for the Magpies where he sits together with fellow midfielders Jonjo Shelvey, Isaac Hayden and Mikel Merino, the former Senegal international want to play regularly.
Diame wouldn’t mind dropping back down into the Championship which would give him more game time at Villa.
The 30-year-old played for Wigan and West Ham but he became successful during his time at Hull under Bruce where he scored the winning goal for the Tigers in the play-off final in 2016.
Although the striker has provided interest in moving to Villa, it still remains to be seen since the club is not short of midfield options. They also have to be careful with their selection in the January window to comply with the financial restrictions.
