After the tug-of-war made by Liverpool and Barcelona for Philippe Coutinho where the striker also wanted to move to Camp Nou, now he wants to give his best for the Anfield fans.
Coutinho insisted that what happened last summer window are all in the past and he just wants to focus on giving his all for Liverpool.
Barca made multiple bids for Coutinho but Liverpool insisted that they will not sell Coutinho for any price at this time.
Coutinho had also hoped to move to Camp Nou and even missed training sessions with the club because of it.
Now, Coutinho admits that everything is in the past now and Liverpool is what matters to him.
“I’m calm. It’s all passed by. I’m here to defend the colours — to give my maximum,” Coutinho said.
“It wasn’t really the result we wanted, but we have to keep working and there are more games, another four games to come.”
The striker also wants a strong team this season as he is also waiting to be called for the World Cup in Russia next June.
“I hope to get called up,” he said of his chances of making the cut for Russia 2018.
“With every call-up I want to develop and for us develop as a team in order to be successful.”
