Manchester United striker Romelu Lukaku’s gesture after scoring a goal against his former squad, Everton, raised eyebrows of the fans of the Blues. The striker then explained why he made such celebrating gesture.
When Lukaku made a goal against his former squad at Old Trafford, he cupped his ear towards the fans of the Blues. Unfortunately, the supporters did not like seeing him celebrating his goal.
In an interview after the game, the striker said: “We could have scored more in first half. We weren’t clinical enough.
“Everton created problems in midfield and the manager gave us tips at half-time of how to sort it. In second half, Everton had a lot of control but quality was the difference in the end.”
Furthermore, Lukaku clarified why he made such gesture after scoring a goal against his former squad. He said: “I mean, it’s another goal and I’m happy with the win. It’s just a bit of banter, after the free-kick I missed.
“We don’t look at our opponents, we stay focused on us. We know we can play better than we did today.”
