Southampton are currently in talks with Barcelona over signing Paco Alcacer but this could affect West Ham’s summer target, Shane Long.
Shane Long has scored in 25 games for club and country during Southampton’s 2-2 draw with Newcastle United at St Mary’s on Sunday.
He has shown a lack of confidence in front of goal which could be seen during their last game.
The 30-year-old may just need a fresh start in another club and West Ham could be a good option.
However, Southampton are preparing talks with Barcelona over signing the Spanish international centre-forward Alcacer.
If Alcacer arrives at the club, this could push Long down to the fourth choice in the pecking order and may have West Ham lost interest over the player.
The Hammers wanted to sign Long during the summer but was not able to. This time, the striker may just have to wait if West Ham will rekindle their interest in him.
