Southampton centre-back Maya Yoshida has issued a statement to his team-mates to both improve and pick up points in the coming games ahead.
“Fortunately we have another home game coming up next week to make amends, this period between now and the next international break is very important,” Yoshida said after their draw against Newcastle United at the weekend.
“We need to pick up points now because December holds some very difficult fixtures for us,” he continued.”
The Saints will play in December against Bournemouth, Arsenal, Leicester City, Chelsea, Huddersfield, Tottenham Hotspur, and Manchester United.
“West Brom [their next opponents] are a strong side and consistently in the top half of the table. It’s a big opportunity for us to show our character,” Maya said.
