The Liverpool F.C is a football club formed in Liverpool Merseyside, England. It is a Premier League association football club and has won five European Cups, 15 FA Community Shields, 8 League Cups and 18 League titles. Liverpool was founded in the 1892 and joined the football league in the following year. Liverpool has expertise in playing both the English and European football in the year 1980’s when the club earned 11 League titles and seven European trophies, these achievements were under the leadership of Bill Shankly and Bob Paisley.
While the team was managed by Rafa Benitez and Steven Gerrard as captain Liverpool for the fifth time became European champions, winning the UEFA in 2005 Champions League Final against Milan. In 2014-2015, Liverpool was proclaimed as the ninth highest-earning football club, their annual revenue reached €391 million. In 2016, Liverpool is the eight most valuable football club with a value of $1.55 billion. Liverpool also stands against their rivals most notably the Merseyside derby with Everton and North West Derby against Manchester United.
However, in 1985 a tragedy involving the club’s supporters was part of their history. The Heysel Stadium Disaster wherein fans were pressed against a collapsing wall while escaping, fans were injured and there were casualties, this event gave all English clubs a five-year ban from European competitions. The team before had red shirts and white shorts, later on, they’ve changed it to an all-red home strip in the year 1964, this colour is still what the team is using in the present day.
