Middlesbrough FC

A club that originated from Middlesbrough, North Yorkshire England in the year 1876. The Middlesbrough F.C belongs to the professional association of football club. The club played at the Riverside Stadium before in 1995, it was their second home ground before turning to a professional team. The team played at Ayresome Park from 1903 to 1995 with a length of 92 years. The club is also one of the members that established the premier League in 1992. The team also had their first relegation of the season in the year 1992-1993. The know rivals of the club are Sunderland and Newcastle United, they are also rivals with their fellow Yorkshire club Leeds United.

The highest achievement of the club was recorded at the 1913-1914 season by finishing third. The club almost got to closing in 1986 right after experiencing extreme difficulties with their finances, however they were saved by an association led by Steve Gibson, the chairman and board member of the said association. In 1996-1997, the club was relegated and was deducted with three points after failing to comply the fixture between Blackburn Rovers.

The team was back in the succeeding season after being promoted and played being in the top division for 11 seasons, however, the club was downgraded in 2009.

In 2004, the club won a League Cup and it was the club’s major trophy. They played the 2006 UEFA Cup Final but were unfortunately defeated by the Spanish particularly Sevilla. After spending 7 years in the Championship, the club made sure they were promoted to the 2016 Premiere League after achieving second place. The club usually use red and white for their kit.
